This Privacy Policy describes Barbour Logic’s policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of your information. When using our chatbot you consent to the collection, transfer, manipulation, storage, disclosure and other uses of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time and by using our chatbot after it has been updated you agree to be bound by the revised policy.

Information we collect about you
We collect information about you when you use our chatbot.
This information includes:
- The contravention code or vehicle registration number you enter
- The reasons you view and search terms you enter
- Your IP address, location and device information
- Information on how you use the site, using page tagging techniques, for example which buttons you click, the web pages you visit and how long you spend on the site
- Where our chatbot is interfaced with another system, we may also obtain additional data about your Penalty Charge Notice from that system. That can include your Penalty Charge Notice number, the contravention code, your vehicle registration number and the status of your Penalty Charge Notice.
We use this information to:
- Improve the website by monitoring how you use it
- Improve our products and services
- Help the council improve the overall parking challenges and appeals process
Barbour Logic can’t personally identify you using the information you submit, but we may provide some or all the information collected to the council, who can then identify you using the records they have.
Our legal basis for collecting this information is that it is our legitimate interest to collect it. Without the data that our chatbot collects, we wouldn’t be able to provide you with the service of giving you advice. We also need the data you provide to continue improving our products and services.
Where your information is stored
We store your information on secure servers in the UK. It may also be stored in other countries inside the European Union with similar data protection regulations as the UK’s. We store your information where it could be viewed by our staff or suppliers. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this. We take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Keeping your information secure
Transmitting information over the internet is not completely secure, and we can’t guarantee the security of your information. Any information you transmit is at your own risk.
We have procedures and security features in place to try and keep your information secure once we receive it.
Sharing your information
We won’t share your information with other organisations for marketing, market research or commercial purposes other than described above. We may pass on your personal information if we have a legal obligation to do so. We may use your data in an aggregated way for marketing purposes (for example to show the number of people who looked at a particular reason) but we won’t include any personal data.

You also have a right to object to us collecting your information or complain about how we’ve processed your data.
